Since last fall I’ve been trying to be careful and lose some weight. Dang it’s hard for a middle-age guy who’s not really naturally active. I got the fitbit Versa 2 Christmases ago and I’ve been pretty happy with it. Of course it can do a lot more than I can.
My goal was 10,000 steps a day and I’ve been pretty good with getting my daily 10,000 steps in by the end of the day. It has been getting easier to get those 10,000 steps so this week I should up my game by 1,000 steps. So I updated my goal to 11, 000 steps per day. It’s no marathon but every little bit helps when you’re trying to lose some weight.
So this evening I had a more than 5,000 steps and I wanted to get that goal. So I went out and walked around ‘the block’. It took mea little longer than I expected but in the long run it’s going to be worth the effort. I stayed out till I got those 11,000 steps. I was determined and I wasn’t going to just wrap it up with steps to the kitchen or bathroom.
After a little retracing my steps I was able to get those 11,000 steps. If you follow my Twitter feed you’ll see that I have it pose each time I reach my goal. I can use all the encouragement I can get because I’m just not motivated to exercise. It’s just not something that excites me at this point.
If you see that I reached my goal give me that love. I’d love to see how many people leave a comment or give it some love.
Encouraging those around us is something we don’t always do. It’s like people saying excuse or pardon me. Even saying hello is a challenge in some crowds. So this is a pretty way to encourage each other. If you want to friend me via fitbit let me know. They have those challenges on fitbit too. Even that could be fun.
Have a great weekend everyone! It’s almost over but life is good. Smile if for no other reason than to make people wonder what you’re up too.
