Raindrops falling on our heads
This has been a crazy week. It’s Sunday and was it a Funday for you? We did our normal errand running. It was raining here in the Portland Metro area. It’s always nice to have a day to rest and relax. I don’t know about you but I don’t mind and actually like grocery shopping.
Breakfast burritos
We have a couple of places we stop for a breakfast burritos sometimes. We stopped at Del Taco down in Tigard today. They really do a good job. Their sauces is great. They have green tomatillo and red chile sauces which really enhance the taste of the burritos.
Superheros gone bad
Have you seen Amazon’s The Boys? This show is crazy in our superhero world. Friday was the finale for their 2nd season. This is a great show. The characters are great. If you believe power corrupts then this show is for you. Here’s a trailer for season 2.
This show has some funny and has a lot of references. There are references to Star Wars, Supernatural, and even Avengers. There’s a girl fight in the finale which references the Avengers Infinity Wars. They are already talking about Season 3 for The Boys.
Politics
Can you believe the President got COVID-19? How crazy is that? He has all the means to stay virus-free but he squandered that safety. Then we hear how he did a couple of different events and potentially spreading the virus. Can you believe that? Crazy I tell you.
I’d like to take a minute and say the 210,000 people who have died will be missed. It saddens me to think that there’s a whole generation of people that’s being wiped out. I watch the daily reports coming from the Oregon Health Department. The majority of people I see passing away are in their later years (70’s or 80’s). This could be minimized if people wore masks.
Podcast
I was listening to Michelle Obama’s podcast again. It’s so good. I heard the episode with her brother and her girlfriends. She’s just so talented I tell you. To hear the story of her life and it’s sad and frustrating. In the episode below she tells a story about a time her daughters, friend, and her are out grabbing ice cream. It breaks my heart. I honestly don’t understand how people are so selfish.
I also heard the new NPR podcast Louder Than A Riot. Now I’m not into rap music but I listened to it from more a social experience or history. Again it’s alarming to hear the stories. I’ve lived a sheltered live and I recognize that. I also respect that there are people who have had these experiences. Check out the show even if you aren’t a rap fan.
Are criminals bad people?
With some of the shows I’ve been listening too and topics on the news lead me to think about this topic from time to time. I tend to think that people are inherently good. I’d like to think given the availability of jobs and good incomes that most people wouldn’t commit crimes. So many people are having problems making ends meet. That explains a lot of crime in mind. Maybe I’m naive but I’d like to think people are good.
Closing out
So lots going on and lots of great things to listen to these days. The leaves are changing color and the weather is cooling off. Fall is in the air. I even ordered a raincoat to address all the rain I’m expecting to see in the next couple months. Everyone have a great week and look for the good in your fellow man.
