Introducing
Nissan has thrown its hat in the ring by announcing a new electric vehicle. They introduced their electric SUV a couple of weeks ago. They have been producing electric cars for 10 years. The Leaf has been around that long and it’s said to be a very dependable car. The Nissan announce comes as they announce that they will bring 8 electric model cars to the market over the next several years.
The price is estimated to be $40,000 to $60,000 for the Ariya. This is important and puts it in the Tesla Model 3 price range. With this new model, there’s a couple of items that are updates that buyers have requested. The liquid cooling of the battery and the change to the CCS or Combo charging port are 2 advancements that will help in the sales of this automobile.
Style
The styling is similar to other electric SUVs but a little different. The design is definitely Nissan. The Ariya will be a little heavier than their normal electric automobiles due to that liquid cooling system. The automobile will offer 19″ and 20″ tires like many other electric SUVs. They describe the interior as a spaceship lounge. Sounds sexy, right? The Ariya comes with two 12.3 monitors as well as a heads up display. Because it’s an electric automobile the interior sits a little lower than one would think. This means more room in the cabin.
The Ariya will come in 5 variants. These variants are driven by the 2 battery sizes and whether it comes with their e4force. The 5th variant is a performance version with all the bells and whistles. The estimated mileage of the Ariya will be between 230 and 310 miles. Again this puts in the same mileage category as Tesla automobiles. Like many newer electric SUVs it will have a towing capability of approximately 1,500 kgs.
If your worried about all the technology and wonder how or if you can get updates there’s no need to worry. The Ariya will receive over the air updates. This will help it’s firmware as well as it’s voice recognition software. The thing to remember is that Nissan has been making electrics automobiles for 10 years now. So unlike other automobile manufactures they’ve been working with users and building similar vehicles for a decade now.
