What’s new?
Freelance Fairytales indeed! This week I caught this great new podcast. Alex Fasulo has some great stories and even better advice. She’s providing some tough love and great advice in this podcast. She’s also not trying to tell you it will be easy or sell you on the idea that you’ll make a ton of money overnight.
My new focus and fascination are with freelancing and working for myself. It’s something we’re told most of our life we can’t do but Alex spells it out and explains how she almost fell into that trap. At 52 I can see where we’ve been conditioned to follow certain paths in life. I can see that in my friends and my life.

The podcast may not be for everyone due to Alex’s approach. I however did enjoy listening to her speak. It’s just got that New York vibe which I don’t mind and can appreciate very much. I imagine that some people are potentially put off because she’s younger.
What did I like about the podcast?
- I always love a frank discussion and she doesn’t mince words
- The no-fear kind of approach was great and empowering
- I liked the failure is a normal message
- Most important is she’s not telling you you’ll be a millionaire in a month
As I journey through this new space I’m encouraged when I run across this kind of stuff because it’s not filling my head with grand ideas. I mean they do talk about how you can have multiple streams of revenue and make a good living doing it. However, they aren’t telling you it’s going to happen overnight. When they tell you that you’ll be making hundreds of thousands of dollars overnight, you have to step back and say, seriously?

In closing, I would tell you to give it a try. Check out Alex’s podcast and see what you think. I also might suggest listening to a couple of episodes because sometimes one might not really resonate with you. We all have it in ourselves to make good choices and do great things in our lives. Those don’t all have to be centered around title, position, or money. Sometimes it’s about how we live our lives and how we feel about ourselves.
