Saturday at the movies
Yesterday we went to go see the movie Death on the Nile from 20th Century Studios. I thought it would be good but it was honestly beyond good. I was expecting good things from the trailer just with the actors that were involved. Honestly, though I was not prepared for just how good it was. I hadn’t focused on the fact that it’s a story involving Hercule Poirot. That would have been a big draw for me. Kenneth Branagh in that role is just unbelievable. After Murder on the Orient Express, I was hooked.
Then mix in Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Gal Gadot, and countless other talented actors and actresses. Just a great list of characters and the ability of the actors and actresses to bring them to life. A prime example would be Emma Mackey. Bringing the character of Jacqueline de Bellefort to life with such passion and commitment. Jennifer Saunders who played Marie Van Schuyler was a gem in this role.
I’ve gone on enough about the actors and actresses. The cinematography was stunning. The views of the pyramids and the Nile were breathe taking. Then to have the steamboat Karnak on the Nile was just dazzling. It was all stupendous with sweeping views of Egypt and the Nile River Basin.
Don’t take my word. Go see this movie. Experience all the beauty and emotions that they create in this Agatha Christie-based novel from 1937. They did an amazing job bringing it to life.
